The Classical Text of Matthew
The text of Matthew's Gospel (in Latin) is an excellent starting point for the learning of the Latin tongue. In this article I encourage the usage of Matthew in the instruction of children who have a desire to learn Latin. There is also an appendix which contains a demonstration of inter-textual practice. Moreover the Old Vulgate (Latin) contains the blue-collar style of other early Roman writers and provides the reader with a good sense of nuance, so we have in this document ancient pictures--in a dead language--from the early days of Church history.click here for complete article
